These plugs are not merely high grade. Every possible step has been taken to achieve true "State of the Art". Every one of our products is made under our direct supervision to the highest and strictest standards. Since even minute variations can lead to failure, we carefully choose each part to assure ease of assembly and operation and, especially, safety. Materials are selected for superior sound quality, durability and reliability. To achieve our aim, cost is a secondary consideration. Avoiding unnecessary decoration and complexity, we are proud to deliver these products of value for your listening pleasure.
Pin - Contact Pin
The contact pins are made out of deoxidized phosphorus bronze and machined out of a single piece, for the best possible conductivity.
The feedstock is made out of a bolt 14 mm in diameter that weights 70 grams. The machining has to be done with a highly sophisticated CNC lathe, in order to archive the highest precision on this complex shape.
In order to improve the sound quality the plating is a very important issue. Therefore our contacts are free of any nickel plating. Instead, we hand polish the metal parts twice. Only by means of this costly process can we achieve a mirror- like surface, and a proper base for the final gold or rhodium plating. This mirror- like finish is a prerequisite for producing clear and vivid sound.
The quality and choice of plating materials alters the sound dramatically. Where the Silver/ Rhodium sounds pure and bold, the Gold sounds warm, spacious and luxurious and Gold / Palladium is pure, vivid and extended. Any one of the three is far above standard "audiophile" grade connectors. It's up to you to choose which suits your taste and system most.
The basic material for the Oyaide F1 is Beryllium Copper, which provides maximum conductivity, strength, and a secure contact.
The surface of the F1 is thoroughly polished TWICE. Then, a layer of platinum (.5 micron) is plated directly onto this polished surface, and the polishing process is again applied twice. Next, the Oyaide F1 receives the final Palladium plating (0.3 micron), and is again polished twice. The combination of these polishing processes, platings, and thicknesses of platings ultimately leads to the final sound character. This connector is Oyaide's best male connector, and is its all-out assault on high-end AC connectors
For the body of the Oyaide F1, Oyaide has chosen high density PBT, mixed with 30% glass filler. This combination was used to maximize rigidity, thermal stability and provide high resonance absorption. The inner housing is Delrin, while the outer shell is made from a 50 series aluminum alloy.
In our experience, and based on the feedback of our customers, the Oyaide F1 male AC connector has a tonal character that is very natural sounding, resolving, and very balanced throughtout the frequency spectrum. Highs are sweet and extended, mids are layered beautifully, and bass is rock solid, without being lean or suffering from any bloat or note overhang.
